Children’s Hospital Art Project: ‘Uniquiely Me’ 2009

Cincinnati Children's Hospital Artwork

I collaborated with Kolar Designs as a lead artist to create art work with children that was going to be part of a the permanent collection at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. Cincinnati Children’s building is a Medical Office Building to house clinics with frequent repeat visitors. Most of these repeat visitors have disabilities including Autism, Down Syndrome, hearing and/or speech impairment/loss and other physical disabilities requiring occupational and physical therapy. The patients range in age from 0 to adult, ability/disability and in tolerance to visual stimulation.  The goal of visuals within this building is to build self-esteem through positive reinforcement with a theme of “Uniquely Me”. To create the two large works of art I had workshops with children at the Krohn Conservatory and at the Cincinnati Children Museum Center. Here are the two works of Art. The Butterfly Kolam and The Tree of Life. I had immense honor to be part of this amazing project and team.
